GarageBand in iPad

I have an iPad retina, one of the first with retina, and recently discovered it is limited to record time when I tried to record an hour long workshop. That was very annoying and I am wondering if that has been changed.

What sort of case is a GarageBand?

I'm not sure about Garageband, but theres always FL Studio Mobile (its $20 though and some instruments are extra)
