Calendar Search Results - iPad vs. iPhone

Has anyone else noticed that calendar search results on the iPhone and iPad are shown differently? On the iPhone, the results are entirely chronological while on the iPad, the results are sorted first by calendar and then by chronological order. Personally, I much prefer the sorting on the iPhone than the iPad as I want to see everything in chronological order regardless of which calendar it happens to be in.

Are there any sort settings for search?

Strange thing happened this morning. I performed a search on my iPad and the results were sorted chronologically just like on my iPhone. I performed the "exact" search I did yesterday, and the results came out chronologically again. I'm very happy....but a little confused.
