Family sharing and 2FA

I am trying to start using a separate apple if from my wife and we have two factor authentication enabled. I was hoping I could login to her Apple ID on icloud.com but the problem is it sends out a 2FA request only to get devices so I can no longer login to her account. Is there a way I can have 2FA requests go to family devices as well? If not I may go back to a single Apple ID for both of us.

Since it’s your wife, can you not just have her give you the necessary code when it is received on her iPhone?
