how to get pictures from ipad to icloud

my pictures from my iPhone go to icloud but when I take pics from my I pad they don't go to icloud. is there a setting I am missing on my ipad?

If you are signed into the same iCloud account and have either Photo Stream or iCloud Photo Library enabled on both devices, your photos should sync with all of your iCloud connected devices. Having said that, make sure the iPad is connected to the Internet, preferably via Wi-Fi. Barring any iCloud problems, a reboot or signing out of iCloud on the iPad and then signing back in should be sufficient.
