How do I change an appleid on iPad air?

I bought my husband an iPad air when we were in the US. As we are not very technical, the young lady selling it offered to 'set it up using my apple id.' This means, of course, that I get all his emails and pictures, amd he is ble to see all my internet activity! Not that this matters, but it would be better if they were separate. I have tried to follow instructions to set up a new id on his ipad, but my email address always appears. How do I go about solving this problem, please?

You'll need to follow these steps for each Apple iOS device (iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch) using your Apple ID:

• Tap Settings.
• Open iCloud.
• Tap on your account name at the top.
• Enter your password.
• Tap Devices.
• Tap on each Device and choose Remove From Account.
