Why don't I have 2 alerts available in my iPhone 6 with IOS 9.2?.

I can't find a default setting either. Sometimes it offers 2, usually only one. Can I change it to 2 always??
I used to have 2 alerts in iPhone 5 - I think it was in settings >mail, calendars> default alerts. That setting is gone apparently.

I have the same problem and can't find an answer anywhere. I switch calendars and SOMETIMES a second alert option will pop up. But usually not. And I can't find a place to set options for 2 alerts. Sometimes if I repeatedly go back and forth switching calendar type, it will finally give me a 2nd alert but I cannot detect any pattern to it at all. I've had my iphone 6 for a year and googling it has gotten me nowhere. Just old answers about using settings - I wish!
