Charging problem

Bought a 2nd hand iPhone 5 and the charger works fine but sometimes it pops up "charger is not compatible with this device"And it stops charging so i have to plug it out and back in (dont exactly remember what it says but its something like that)whats up with this? Its very annoyingt

It's either a non certified charger or cable or you have a bad connection. Your cable may have a short. Make sure the port is clear of debris.
