Can I store my skype messages on Dropbox to free up disk space

I have an iPhone 4s 8gb but can't install IOS8 as it needs 4.4gb & I've only got 4gb available. I've deleted most photos but need to keep skype messages. Can they go in Dropbox if I download it & will that give me enough space. I was advised not to instal IOS8 due to probs but this is apparently the reason why none of my notification tones work now so I'm stuck

Just delete the Skype app. When you reinstall it after the update and log in, your messsges should still be there, if you had Skype backed up in iCloud. How would you upload the messages to Dropbox? I haven't used Skype in a long time. Does it offer "share" or "open in" options? Would you take screen shots?
You can also delete music from your music library. You can download them back after the update at no cost. Same with apps. Delete all those big apps that have no content to save. Facebook for example. You can reinstall those apps after the update. Delete emails you don't need. Especially if they have photos and videos.
