Help with iPad Volume Level

I have an iPad and no matter how loud I turn the volume the my alarm is the same. I think it has something to do with the ringer volume. How do I make my ringer louder?

The alarm works off the phone volume. So Once it's set and before you go to sleep turn the volume up using the buttons on the side of the iPad. If it's a third party alarm app this might not be the case. I only use the stock alarm.
