Got the new 4 today. I used my daughters upgrade to get it and giving her the 3GS. I called every AT&T store today asking for a micro sim. No one would give me one. They all said they had to wait until tomorrow since that was launch day. So I took matters into my own hands. I took my old sim out and cut it down to micro-sim size. I just used a sharp pair of scissors. I dropped the cut down sim into the 4 and plugged it into iTunes. It activated fine and its running perfectly. I called AT&T and told them what I did and they reset my daughters line and I'm done. Too easy and now I don't have to fight lines at AT&T tomorrow.

Couldnt you have just called at&t and had them transfer your number to the micro sim that came with the i4? Just curious. I'm in the same boat.

Well, possibly but I was told I could not by 2 AT&T reps. We all know their word is golden. They stated the included SIM was tied to my daughters number already. If I activated with that SIM, it would deactivate the one in her phone. So after hearing this twice and being told by 4 AT&T stores they would not give me a new SIM, I took matters into my own hands. I was going to have to have a new SIM anyway so I figured I would go for it. It was so easy. I just lined the 2 up and made sure the old one was cut the same way the new one was. After the initial cuts, I placed it in the SIM tray. It needed a bit of adjustment and I trimmed a bit more. Finally I got it to fit super snug. Better than the real thing. When I popped it in it immediately activated the phone. Data and calls have been perfect all day.
