Why has the the 2nd alert has disappeared off my iPhone 6 calendar and how can I fix it?

the 2nd alert has disappeared off my i6 calendar. it's doing my head in!

I have had an iPhone since the i4. I know how to use the calendar. The 2nd alert disappeared recently. I called apple and did the forced shutdown, all to no avail. and yes, I have tried suggestions re setting the event saving......but that second alert just is not there any more. do you know how to fix it. I think it may have gone with one of the IOS updates. has apple done it.

I've never noticed a second alert... and if the stock calendar app no longer meets your needs - there are others in the app store that might.
