Ringtone while docked?

I've got a weird issue...I recently received this dock for my iP4, and it's been great. (And only $10!) The only issue I have with it is that when a call comes in while my phone is docked, the ringtone seems to stutter. I think it might have something to do with the speakers being blocked by the dock--it's like the sound cuts itself off when it bounces off the dock's surface. The weird thing is that SMS notifications play through the speakers I have connected to the Line Out jack; it's only the call ringtone that plays through the iPhone speakers.

Anyone have a similar issue and/or solution for this?
