Custom ringtones assigned to each inactive contact

I am using iPhone 11 running IOS 16 and after setting a custom ringtone for each contact when I receive a call from that person it only plays the general ringtone and not the ringtone set for the contact. lost. Interestingly, the settings for general ringtones work properly.
Although I have set the ringtone according to the instructions go to Contacts - Edit - Set Ringtone - Selected and confirmed (the preview plays normally).
I've also tried rebooting the machine and I'm out of ideas.
Please help me!

I wish I could help ! had the same problem. The last phone I had that did it properly was a cheap Nokia !

When you say "Custom" Ringtone, do you mean ringtones you have purchased or added from your music? Or do you mean different tones from the default list? Do you have Vibrate enabled? If so, disable that.
