Why is my voice command in google maps stopped working and how do I fix it?

It was working earlier and I pulled up another location and noticed it wasn't talking to me. I've checked all settings but still nothing.

Try swiping the app out of the multitasking tray. That don't work do a hard reset.
Hold the top power/sleep button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release.

Couple of months ago this happened to me. All I did was turn off my phone an turn it back on and everything was working as it should.
