Wrist Detection: worth it?

So far my Nike+  Watch is great. I'm really impressed with battery life! I'll do an extensive test of it on Tuesday.

I wanted to ask if it's worth it to use Wrist Detection? My Watch is always with me, wether it's on my wrist or charging close to me. Would it be dangerous to turn this feature off in case the Watch gets lost or stolen (which I highly doubt)?

Mine is always turned on. I don't trust anything these days. Just me. You do what works for you.

I believe that you can't turn off Wrist Protection if you've enabled Passcode. So turning it off means having no passcode mean no security whatsoever for data on your Watch, and (even more importantly for me) no Apple Pay.

Except for being able to conveniently play with or demo your Watch when it's not on your wrist, I'm not clear on any upside of disabling Wrist Protection. Maybe if your wrist is heavily tatted?
