Why doesn't my iPhone offer an invitee option in my calendar events?

I've been trying to record my calendar events and invite others to meetings, but on my iPhone 5 there's no option to invite other attendees. Have I done something in my settings that I should undo?

Go to the Calendar app, select the event, hit Edit in the upper-right corner, select Invitees, add whomever you want.
