Why can't I retreive my lost password on My iPhone 5C

Everytime I try to make a new password it fails to do what I ask.

What password have you lost that you are trying to retrieve? Email, iCloud, Apple ID or what? If it's your iCloud / Apple ID, go to the iCloud website or via the Manage Your Apple ID site to change it.
