Where did the rest of my music go?

Hi;
I have downloaded all my music from iTunes. Most of my music is fine, but I'm finding that some of the music only plays a few bars of the song, then goes silent, the iPhone, iPad or iPod continue to time thru the the rest of the song as if it is playing, but there is no sound??? Does anyone know what that is happening?

Are you sure the songs have downloaded in their entirety?
