The diff between 1.4 and 2.6 in a Mac

I've bought a mid level 2014 Mac Mini for my wife. It is great and my admin login makes me drool for my own Mac. I have several iOS devices and the transition from Windows was no problem.
My question has to do with saving a few dollars though. I can only guess that the entry level with a 1.4 ghz chip will be very noticible to me if I get one of those for myself. I want something running Yosemite of my own. Since her mid level has a much faster 2.6 chip and double the ram, I'm worried I will notice a big difference.
Will the difference be very noticible? Does anyone have both? Tia folks.

I guess I wasnt clear. I am asking only about Mac Mini's only.
Will the 1.4 entry level Mac Mini be a lot slower than the 2.6 mid level Mac Mini if just used for surfing the web.

Keep in my that the difference between the 1.4 and 2.6ghz Mac mini is more then just ghz. You get double the ram (which is no longer user upgradable), double the hard drive space, and better graphics. That alone may be worth the extra $200 if it's in your budget.
