what happens if i erase my iphone while its disabled

if my iphone is disabled and i have to connect to itunes and i erase everything on it will i still have to hook my phone up to itunes when everything is erased?

Welcome to iMore! Once your phone is unlocked and restored you have the option to set up as a new device, restore from an iTunes backup, or restore from an iCloud backup.
