Taking a screenshot

Hi everyone...

Does anyone know how to take a snapshot of my iPad Mini screen? (sorry for the seemingly stupid question here...)

I tried searching in the forums, but all that came up was a thread with pictures that were already taken..not how to do it.

Press the Home button and Lock button together. At the same time.

This might be a very stupid question, but is it possible to turn off the screen flash when you take a screenshot? *feels dumb*
