Except that the X Elite has 12 cores and the M3 in a MacBook Air has 8 cores.

So a 12 core CPU beating an 8 core CPU is supposed to be impressive?

It is VERY telling that MS is not comparing to the 12 core M3 in a MacBook Pro. MS sounds desperate by making these completely absurd comparisons.
