lost airpods - old location

So, though i lost my airpods on the train around 3 weeks ago - 'findmy' app said last location was my home but could not find them anywhere.

I have subsequently checked the app over last few weeks & nothing was showing BUT checked app today & said 'old location' was my home & states yesterdays date & gives a time.

How accurate is this information?? Are they deffo in my home or is app using 3 week old location information?

would the batteries not be flat by now ? and does that matter ?

I have guessed that batteries were flat BUT why did app state they were in my house?

App has been able to trace since

If the AirPods were has not been used since its last connection to your device then it makes sense that the last place it was detected was at your home even though you could have left them somewhere else or they might have fallen out of your pocket or bag away from your home.
