Key pad not working well

Had my new phone for less than a month and cannot get into my voice mail
I try punching in the numbers on the key pad and they are very inconsistent so by the time I get the 4th digit I get locked out. It was funny (well not really) as I called my provider and of course they say press 1 or press 3 etc to get through to a live person. I did eventually get through and they said take it to the Apple store and get a replacement. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Are you having issues with it when using the keyboard to type on here or any other social media? Is your screen warm or hot to the touch? If so, it’s probably a defective screen. I had that issue. Go to an Apple store. They will replace the screen under warranty.

Thanks. I know how to set up voice mail and change all the settings etc. When the phone keyboard comes up to type in the 4 digit password 2 of the numbers do not work most of the time and always the last digit number 3
Nothing wrong with the screen and its not hot at all. I was wondering if the sensitivity of the key pad can be changed.
I even tried thumping harder with my finger.
