ipod touch 64 4th display issues

my new ipod touch 64 4th gen has lighter images along the edges of the display than in the middle. i know the ipad had a back light bleed problem. is this the issue with it.

i'll probably take it back, but is this something that might be expected in any of the newer models?

You could try a restore, if that doesn't work then you probably should bring it to an Apple store.
