I bought my wife an iPad 4 a few months ago; everything is fine but she has noticed that apparently it takes over ten hours to charge the battery from about 30% or so to full charge. Is this unusual? She's been using an Apple charger & lightning cable

Is she using the iPad charger (10W or 12W) that came with the iPad? It sounds like she?s using the iPhone/iPad Mini charger (5W).

Not using the iPad mini one. We do have a bunch of charging cubes around our place, for iPod touches, iPhone 4, iPhone 5, and iPad 4. I'm having her try a different charger. I didn't realize there were different output levels

Looking at your attachment, we have both, but she'e been using the cubes. I told her to try the larger one. We'll see how it goes

The power requirements of the iPad 1/2/3/4 is greater than the iPad Mini and the iPhone and iPod. The smaller chargers do not put out enough power to charge the full size iPads in a reasonable amount of time. BTW, the same is true if you try to charge it from your computer USB ports... they only put out 5W, as well. No bueno.

Check the bottoms of the cubes I think I have some ipad looking chargers that actually have the output of a iPhone charger. That's most likely the problem the ipad 4 should say 12w on the bottom
