Do you have any other wireless devices on the network besides the ipad? If you do, I would try disconnecting them all except for the ipad and see what you get. There might be some kind of interference going on, but eliminating all other wifi devices could narrow things down a bit...

It was not stable, this morning the windows 7 PC is back with slow AC.
I did try with only the iPad on the wifi and same result with slow AC...

I will try to find out what is the difference between W8 AC and W7 AC.

I will post it here if I find out what is going on.

Are both Win 8 and Win 7 running the same driver version for your network card? Maybe see if you can update the driver in Windows 7?

Also, is the PC wired or wireless?

The PC is wired. I just check all the driver of IDE and wireless and windows report there all up to date.

I will try to see the driver of W8 is different form W7 but the are a good chance they are different and cannot be install in W7.

But it's a good idea you got there.

Wifi AC Man it's fast !

I was hoping for twenty something MB/s with AC device.
Instead it double that !!!

I upload a 877.7 Megs file in 20 seconds !

It's 43.8MB/s !!!

At least in windows-8 :eek:/

Note: I'm about 6 feet away from the router.

I did the same test at 25 feet away from the router with no wall between and I got 21seconds !

I did some more test with the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 and it is faster then the Asus RT-AC68U.

I can do the 877.7 file in 17.05 second wich is 51.47MB/s !
I saw a peak at 62MB/s in some test !
And it is stronger then the Asus upstairs in my office.
(Got to go thru a concrete floor and a wall)
With the Asus it give me 14 to 16 MB/s upstairs and with the Nighthawk
it run at 24 to 28 MB/s. It's real good !!!

Also I know my way around in the Netgear router parameters and I like the Netgear App "Genie". And I was very happy with the R6300 it was the best router I had, very strong and stable !
So I'm gone keep the Nighthawk and return the Asus.

I think If I don't find the problem with windows-7 wifi AC I will have to get use to Windows-8.1... :eek:/

Still got the problem of low speed when the computer run Windows-7 64 bits.
Windows-7 is up to date and every driver is also up to date.

So I will start a new tread to find help.

I just bought a Linksys WRT1900AC router, and it's the greatest thing I have ever bought.

My iPhone 5S is getting wifi speeds of 103mbps.
My iPad Air 101mbps.
My Macbook 114mbps.
My iMac 105mbps.

I have a 350Gb/s speed internet connection and using an AC1900 Wireless router and I have it connected on a 5ghz channel but I am getting only 116Mb/s tops. When my wired devices are easily hitting 350/sec consistently. I thought the IPad Air 2 would be able to easily get 300. Any ideas?
