iOS backup issue

hello to all,
this isnt working for me, i have 238GB free and a 128GB iPhone. When i try to back up it says i dont have enough space, so i hooked my 2TB hard drive to it and it says the same thing.... why is that?

There isn't an iOS backup. There is an iCloud backup and an iTunes backup. Which one of the two were you trying to do? What was the exact error message you received? While you're at it, please provide the iOS version you're running as well as the iPhone model. I'm assuming you're using the latest iTunes version, if you were attempting an iTunes backup.

I think you are doing icloud backup and the space is full in icloud.

They’re definitely doing an iTunes backup, as he mentioned the 2TB hard drive and all that.
