Yes. Because the processor throttling thing is on iPhone only. Not iPad due to their much bigger batteries.

The performance management feature will only be available to iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7 and 7 Plus. The feature is only enabled after there has been an unexpected shutdown of the device. Probably only related to a performance issue relating to the battery.

The iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X has a different performance management feature due to their advanced hardware and software design. This supposedly allows the system to more accurately anticipate and avoid an unexpected shutdown. Those of us owning those phones will not really notice any impacts of this performance management feature.

7+...Just woke my phone and was prompted to enter my Apple ID. I entered, and was no good. I got-“for security reasons, you must reset your password.” Then it rebooted into a black screen for 20 seconds before springboard was visible(homescreen).

It may be beta, but it seems to be semi-accurate. @Tartarus battery health says his 7 Plus is at 87%.

Also 87% my iPhone 7
