The biggest problem isnt the lack of a web version. The app is just a poor copy of Twitter (or X). It's feed sucks, and nobody is using it after the first few days. Web version wont save it.

Don’t think the website is their biggest problem, user engament and instagram users abandoning thread seems to be the biggest problem.
