Albums & favourites missing from iCloud/iPhone in new Photo app

Any solution hows to see your favourite photos from my iPhone in the new Mac Photos app? Also I have some albums on my phone, which also show up in iCloud (not shared album). They don't show up in the Photo app either. Like Instagram pictures are saved in an album if you modify the picture in the Instagram app. I can see them on my iCloud account if I login online, but not in the Photos App on my Mac.
