At least 4x as fast...
Actually, they both have the same speed, all that is different is the amount of apps, photos, games, etc it can store.

Welcome to iMore! If you can swing $100 I would upgrade. There has been a lot of back and forth about this but I think you'll thank yourself in the long run. It won't make much difference in speed (although phones with no available memory are usually very slow) but in the amount of stuff you can store on it. Truthfully, 16GB doesn't go a long way these days.

Only you can answer that question. 64gb for $100 more though might be worth it. Good luck with your decision.

I always recommend buying the largest capacity your budget will allow. iPhones are great devices, but the lack of expandable storage outside of using the new lightning adapters or mophie space cases its always best to have that internal storage which will be faster and easier to manage. I got the 128GB last year and this year.

For the $100 difference you get 4x more storage. Do you take a lot of photos or keep music on your phone? If either, then you should probably get the 64gb. If both then it's a no-brainer. Your current usage is key.

Also if you plan to keep the phone for 2 years I would definitely get the 64gb. If for just a year you can probably do with the 16gb.

As everyone above said it is best to go as large as you can afford. Just the satisfaction of not worrying about how much storage you have left is worth it. At only $8.33 a month it is well worth it.

Yes,,, 16gb is worthless, if you don't go more storage you will 100% regret it very soon.
I owned a 16gb iPhone and iPad in the past, I will never ever make that mistake again.
I spent the extra money and got a 128gb 6s and have not a single regret.

If you want to keep music, photos and video on your phone, then go with at least 64 or 128.

Echoing what everyone else has said, the 16GB and 64GB are the same speed...

If you're asking how much storage you should buy, IMO you should get the 64GB if you can swing it.

I bought a 128gb plus last year and a 128gb 6S this year. I don't like the new push toward cloud storage so I have to have as much storage as possible. I want my pictures and music available to me when I have no signal as well (i am on Verizon so I don't have signal issues but I do travel all over the Texas hill country and no matter who you have it can get a little spotty). I am also the guy taking a million pictures so I can go back through and pick the best ones, but sometimes I don't go through and delete for a while so it is more convenient as well. I would say get more storage👍🏻.

If u can manage your memory then no, but it'll help to have the 64GB in the long run.

Well then u answered your question. I have 128GB, because I have movies & tons of music, pictures & videos on my phone. Also, I like to play a few games & I use a lot of apps. I couldn't manage to do any of that with 16GB.

Given that iOS now takes up about 8GB on its own, bumping up a tier if affordable to you is a good move.

I say yes as well. I would chew through 16gb in the first week.

To me that's an important point. 8GB left over to store photos, music, apps, movies. Not much space at all.
