How do I remove a child's Apple ID from her phone now that my parent Apple ID account is deleted?

When I tried to delete my parent Apple ID account, I was unable to remove my child's associated Apple ID account. But now that I have deleted my parent account, my child cannot log out of her account (it says she no longer has an account)! She is trapped in a non-existing Apple ID account! Help!
