How can I upload a video from my iPad air to my MacBook Air?

I shot a 54 min video on my iPad that I would like to transfer to my macbook air. However, when I connect the two devices, the video does not show up in iTunes. I'd even be satisfied with uploading it to my Dropbox but I can't figure out how to do that either. Can someone help? Thanks!

1. Initiate the Photos app to see if the video is present.
2. If so, initiate the "Image Capture" app on your MacBook Air. It should be in the Utilities folder.
3. The Image Capture app should detect ALL of your photos and videos that reside on the device.
4. Import your video.
