how can I hang up on a call when speaking on AirPods without my phone with me?

I often leave my phone in my pocket while using my new AirPods. I know how to answer an incoming call but would like to be able to hang up using AirPods and, at this time, am having to do so by bringing my phone out... I've tried tapping on the AirPods with no success...
