On the iPad 2 I had to use medium or low detail in order to maintain a decent frame rate in multi multi ship dog fights... especially when the station came in to view
Happily able to confirm that Galaxy on Fire HD (today's update) runs at a fair clip on the new iPad with detail set to high... all the new textures look fantastic and detailed up close.
I still get some stuttering when messing about near the station/asteroids with several ship visible up close but it's less frequent and shorter lived than on the 2.
