Flagging Email Question

I have two email accounts set up through the stock email app. One is Hotmail and the other is Gmail (which is set up via exchange) so I can sync my calendar with it.

I can flag emails from my Hotmail account but not my Gmail account. I'm not sure why, but I don't even get the option. Is there any way to fix this?

Unfortunately the only way to flag emails with the Gmail account is by downloading and using the Gmail app from the App Store. I was very frustrated by this since I like having all my email in one place. I only use a work email address and the Gmail so it would be nice to be able to use one email app.

The good news is that the Gmail app is actually pretty good. I am used to it now, but I would prefer to use the all in one app.

Man. That's not cool. I really like using just one app and I'd prefer to only use the native email app, too. Gmail is my primary email, so that really stinks.

Oh well, thanks for your input.
