Duplicate (lots) Calendar Events

I don't know if it's related but I plugged in to iTunes yesterday for the first time in a while to get some music. Now, I'm noticing tons of duplicate calendar events. For example, my sister-in-laws birthday is tomorrow as well as a friend and their birthdays are listed like 20 times each on my calendar. I only use gmail for calendar syncing and also have contact birthdays turned on for those that may not be in my gmail calendar.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

This is crazy....

If I turn on GMail calendars I lose the ability to view the other calendars or add events. I have this phone calendar showing that I've never had before. Wtf?

I fixed it by just getting rid of my google calendar altogether. My birthdays are stored within the contacts so I didn't really lose anything.
