Could my iCloud password request been a thief?

iCloud password request

While using IPhone got pop up to enter ICloud id. Did that, asked again used another password in case. Asked if I want to reset. Said yes. Told me security code sent to email address never arrived. Concerned about security of passwords. All attempts to contact Apple, failed. Please help

"We" can't do anything for you in this regard. Only Apple Account Security/support can help you so keep trying. Alternatively, you can try making a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store.
