Carrying an Apple Wireless Keyboard

Hi!

Does anyone have an Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard they carry around with them? If so, how do you do it?

I just tried simply stuffing mine in my backpack and, as keys were being mashed, I got a lot of sound from the iPad. I turned off the bluetooth on my iPad, but was wondering if there was some way to do it to prevent this (and possible damage).
