Can iPhone X unlock in the dark?

I seem to be having issues with mine recognizing me in the dark but I'm sure I read it should work. Does it? Or should it?

Yes, FaceID even works in the dark....

Mine works just fine in the dark. Occasionally, I’ll have to put in my password but it’s not too often.
