backup and restoring question

If I right click on my iphone on itunes and hit "backup", then re-jailbreak my iphone and then try to "restore from back up" would that give me all my contacts/texts/apps/settings?

U have to resync ur contacts but ur data, text and apps will show back up

Thanks, and i just ran into another thing i wanted to install pro switcher and i need backgrounder but i cant install that because i have 4.0 f/w so i guess im out of luck?
