Anyone familiar with cricket wireless?

So I know AT&T bought out cricket over the last couple months and now AT&T phones can be used under the cricket service. It's become quite expensive to pay for my AT&T service so I want to either move to cricket or AT&T prepaid with my current iPhone 5S.

My question is, can I cancel my line or port it over and use that current phone that I have under cricket or AT&T prepaid? I checked online and my esn is clear to use for cricket I just have to buy the SIM card but I want to know my phone won't get locked out if I cancel my line and take the phone to cricket.
