What Do You Use Siri For?

I've had the iPhone 4S for close to a week now and I'm trying to figure out what I can use Siri for. I've used it for comedy in from of friends (Ask for a prostitute!) and I know I can ask it for directions home, but I don't think I'll ever actually need directions home. Other than that, I just don't know what it can do. Most things I ask it, it doesn't know how to help me. I'm starting to think that Siri is more useless than useful.....

Oh, I do use the speech recognition while texting in the car quite often though.

Hi Gregory, I just got my 4S on Friday and so far I've used Siri to send and read text msgs while I was driving. I've also needed directions to a store that I was not sure where it was located, and today Ive scheduled a reminder with Siri to remind me to put the meatloaf in the oven at 315:)

So far, everything I've asked of her has gone well, now let's see how my reminder goes today since that will be the first time I'm using her for that:)

I like the idea to use it for cooking reminders. I love to cook, but I'm a space cadet sometimes and forget that I have stuff cooking......

LOL, :eek:i sometimes forget things too !! but hey, we can set reminders for this stuff now:D:D

Well, Siri has reminded me to put my meatloaf into the oven and then at 430 she reminded me to get the veggies going;):) alls good in Siri's hood !!:D lol.

Now, if she could just help me for the days that i've lost my mind, the world would be a better place:p LOL

I am finding myself using Siri more and more every day. I just have to learn to speak plainly and clearly.

Speaking clearly for Siri is very difficult for someone with a west Texas accent, but I am getting used to it.

I like it that I can stop insert something or correct, then go back to dictating. It is working very well for me and I am most happy. My biggest issue with the iPhone was the virtual keyboard. So I am becoming more and more dependent on the voice recognition.

Texting, calling, and alarms.
Oh and don't forget the useless questions!
I mainly use it on the road or when I am busy with my hands.

I use Siri mostly for
-Calendar appointments
-Reminders
-Alarms

For me, using Siri to add new calendar appointments is so much quicker than manually inputting everything.

Like many others, I use Siri for dictating texts and emails. I feel it is very intuitive and rarely makes mistakes on my texts. Sometimes it feels weird saying "comma" or "question mark", but it takes that extra step away so I don't have to manually key them in.

Last weekend I promised my son a blizzard after his baseball game. We were about 30 minutes from home and wasn't sure where to find one, so I pulled out the phone and asked Siri to find a Dairy Queen. Worked perfectly.

I think it is a really great feature and I used it more than I initially thought I would.

I have several notes on my 4S. One called Books, others called Movies, Grocery List, Shopping, Projects, etc. I seem to do my best thinking while I'm driving and I often think of something I'd like to add to a note but haven't been able to get Siri do go there. If I say "Add to a note", Siri says "which note" and lists them all. If I then specify the note by saying "Books" for example, Siri then goes out and finds all the nearby book stores. I've tried rewording things, combining commands, every combination I can think of and still haven't found a way to get Siri to add to a note. Any suggestions?

Use it mostly for fun things. Check weather, etc.
One problem with Siri – on my car hands off speaker when I push it to make a phone call Siri appears on my iPhone. Have to request contact through Siri. Any way other than shutting off Siri to stop her From appearing? Would prefer to let my hands off mobile speaker set up the call like it used to.
