What am I doing wrong? Can't seem to get Handoff to work....

I have a 15" Mid-2012 MacBook Pro that I upgraded last night to Yosemite. I have an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1. I have Handoff enabled on both devices.

At what point when I do something say in Mail, Safari or Calendar, for example should I see something on the other device? I'm not seeing anything.

What am I doing wrong?

Okay....I have it half working. I have it working so that I can "handoff" to my iPhone 6, but I get nothing showing up on my MacBook Pro.
