The major purpose of me purchasing an Iphone 8 Plus was to take advantage of the camera capabilities. I have recorded sample clips at every resolution X FPS. When I import them to my computer (PC), the playback is fine on windows media player. But, when I try to import then edit the clips on programs such as Hitfilm, Shotcut, Lightworks, ETC. the quality is bad. Every clip jumps, pauses, or freezes while the audio still plays. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like a hardware or software issue with your PC since it’s only happening when you load up the videos using editing software. Are you editing in 4K? If so, have you edited other 4K videos using your PC before? 4K editing uses a ton of resources.
That all being said, I don’t edit videos on a PC. Perhaps someone who has more experience in this area will chime in as well.

Hello, and welcome to iMore!

Be sure to update your GPU drivers, and ensure that the RAM on your GPU is not overheating. If the issue remains, post back and let us know and we'll see how to better proceed from there.
