I have had 4 spots appear on my MacBook Pro 15 inch which is about 2 and a half years old, has anybody had anything similar and knows what it is?

    Thanks
    Warren

I can’t tell whether or not I’m seeing dusts, spots or lint. It may be helpful if you can edit the screenshot with an app like Skitch and then point to the specific spots you’re referring to.

I initially dismissed that as smudge. I’m sorry, and no, I’ve never seen that appear on a display before. From the photo, it looks like leftover adhesive.

I would take it to the nearest Apple Store to have them diagnose the problem and possibly fix it.

Hi, that's quite difficult to see, do you think it looks similar to mine?

That appears to be the coating coming off. Apple currently has a quality program where they will replace the display at no cost. I'd take it to the nearest Apple store and have them take a look.

Thanks, I am booked in for Monday at local Apple Store so fingers crossed. It does look like it is the anti reflective coating coming off so hopefully they will change it free of charge.

Well good news is that Apple have replaced my screen free of charge - if you have a similar issue get in quick as I think the free replacement offer ends October
