can you transfer imessage data from computer to iphone?

I had to wipe my phone today and lost all imessage data because synced from the phone to the cloud. All messages are synced through the cloud to my Macbook Air. Is there a way to transfer the imessage data to my phone?

If you did a backup you can restore them.
