"This device doesnt support untethered options"

I have a iphone 3gs on 5.0.1 and using redsnow tried to jailbreak it. I selected 5.0 as the firmware, and after putting it in DFU mode it said " This device doesnt support untethered options". After i go straight to "Just Boot" and it says the exact same thing. Id really appreciate some help iv been trying this since 12 thanks.

I'm not all that well aquatinted with redsn0w, but it sounds like at one point you were prompted to choose wether the phone has a new or old bootrom. And by the looks of the error you have chosen old when in fact your phone has new. (Old bottom 3GS users enjoy an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak)
