Best 3g jailbreak option?

I have an old iPhone that I no longer use as a phone, just as an iPod Touch now. I updated the firmware to the latest per the iTunes site, and am now wondering what would be the best tool to use to jailbreak the device. It appears that limera1n and greenpois0n do not offer a solution for the 3g phones. Is redsn0w the best to use in this situation?

i went to redsn0w last week and no issues at all, except, not sure if you're into customizing your theme(s) but i recently had to get rid of Winterboard due to some major lag issues
